Step back in time and explore Edith Wharton's home, The Mount, a historic house museum and vibrant cultural center in the heart of the Berkshires. Tour the mansion, designed by Wharton herself, and learn about her life and work. The gardens and grounds are free and open daily, so you can wander at your own pace and enjoy the natural beauty of the estate. The Main House closes for the season in early January and reopens in May. This year, NightWood runs November 22, 2024-January 4. The Bookstore will be open for NightWood.

We visited on a Tuesday when the house is closed. We were able to walk the grounds, enjoying the beautiful gardens and admiring the house. We also enjoyed the SculptureNow installation among the trees along the walk from the parking lot to the house and surrounding the house. It was worth the stop!
