Alex Lyon came through with 37 saves as the Detroit Red Wings banked a much-needed pair of points on the road, beating the Nashville Predators, 5-2.

Andrew Copp snapped a 2-2 tie at 3:29 of the third period with the first of his two goals. It stood as the winning goal as the Red Wings improved to 2-3-0 while Nashville dropped to 0-5-0 and remains the only team without a point.

Steven Stamkos scored his first goal with the Predators and tied the game at 2 just 32 seconds into the third period. Stamkos was robbed by Lyon in the waning seconds of the second period on a two-man Nashville advantage but made no mistake one-timing a pass.
