Separating their shootout and OT winning streaks was a 1-0 shootout loss to the New York Rangers on Jan. 18 at Madison Square Garden – when it took Igor Shesterkin to top Blue Jackets goalie Daniil Tarasov in his first NHL shutout performance.

Zach Werenski scored on a breakaway 1:01 into overtime and the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Utah Hockey Club 3-2 on Friday night. Kirill Marchenko and Kent Johnson scored in the third period to rally Columbus from a two-goal deficit.

The Columbus Blue Jackets (fourth place in Metropolitan Division) visit the Dallas Stars (second place in Central Division) after the Blue Jackets beat the Utah Hockey Club 3-2 in overtime on Friday. Dallas is 19-7-1 in home games and 33-17-1 overall. The Stars have a 26-4-0 record in games they score at least three goals.

Werenski dazzling effort to net an overtime goal in Utah capped the Blue Jackets' third straight OT win after trailing 2-0 in the third period.

Cole Sillinger, who missed the previous three games because of an upper-body injury, scored on a rebound 52 seconds into overtime to give the Columbus Blue Jackets a 2-1 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights.
