North Korea finalises landmark defence pact with Russia
North Korea ratified a major defence pact with Russia on Tuesday, outlining mutual military aid and requiring both countries to provide each other with immediate military assistance if attacked. Russia had already completed its side of the ratification last week after the pact was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Global stocks drop amid heightened Ukraine-Russia tensions
Markets sold off Tuesday as geopolitical tensions escalated between Ukraine and Russia. The Dow fell 300 points, or 0.7%; and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 both moved around 0.5% lower.
