Like a Dragon is Amazon’s second bite at the video game adaptation apple after the surprising success of its Fallout show. It stars Ryoma Takeuchi as Kazuma Kiryu, an orphaned youth who joins the Tojo yakuza clan with dreams of earning the title of Dragon of Dojima.

Series is deemed a generic crime drama with Yakuza branding to lure fans, likely causing a one-off situation. Yesterday, the Yakuza: Like a Dragon series launched on Amazon Prime Video to very mixed reviews.

Like a Dragon is going global. The video game series, previously known as Yakuza in the West, has only grown in popularity since 2015's Yakuza 0, encompassing all manner of turn-based RPGs, secret agent brawlers, and pirate-themed adventures. Now, it's about to be plonked in front of millions of subscribers on Prime Video.
