In a barrage of Kindle hardware, Amazon might have something for anyone looking to upgrade from a basic Kindle. The biggest reveal might be the Kindle Colorsoft, its first reader with a color display.

Amazon also unveiled a refreshed $399 Kindle Scribe with new note-taking features and an updated $159 Kindle Paperwhite.

Amazon on Wednesday announced its first color Kindle e-reader following years of effort to bring the more immersive device to market.The 'Kindle Colorsoft' carries a $280 price tag that compares with similar devices from other manufacturers available on Amazon in the range of $149 to $330.

Not only has has Amazon upgraded its entry-level Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Scribe, it also launched the all-new Kindle Colorsoft, its first Kindle with a color E Ink screen.
