The Blue Jackets have put Gavin Brindley on IR today. He will miss 4 to 6 weeks with a broken finger according to the team. On Tuesday night, Brindley had a very nice goal against the St. Louis Blues. He seemed to be in the mix for one of the final forward spots on the big club.
Blue Jackets place Brindley on IR, loan Holm to Cleveland
Brindley, 19, suffered a broken finger in Tuesday’s 3-1 preseason victory at St. Louis and is expected to be sidelined four-to-six-weeks. He made his NHL debut in the Blue Jackets' 2023-24 season finale on Apr. 16 vs. Carolina. A native of Fort Myers, Florida, he was selected by Columbus in the second round, 34th overall, at the 2023 NHL Draft.
Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Sent to AHL
He should see plenty of ice time in the AHL this campaign and could make his NHL debut at some point in 2024-25.
