Nearly 2.6 million Michigan residents are forecast to travel 50 miles or more for the holiday, representing an increase of more than 65,000 travelers and an all-time high for a seven-day Thanksgiving travel period stretching from Tuesday, Nov. 26 through Monday, Dec. 2, AAA officials said in a press release.

Of the 2.6 million Michiganders expected to travel, nearly 2.3 million will drive, more than 217,000 will fly, and another 74,000 will travel by bus, cruise or train. AAA considers the Thanksgiving holiday travel period as stretching from Tuesday, Nov. 26 to Monday, Dec. 2.
